Sonu Nigam Song Quiz

You hear one second of a real Sonu Nigam recording and name it. Land it straight away and the round is worth five points. Miss or skip and the clip grows to two seconds, then four, seven and eleven, worth less every time. Five Sonu Nigam tracks per run, roughly two minutes, and the guess box suggests titles as you type so spelling never costs you a round.

Tracks are pulled live from the public catalogue, so the five you get change every run. Expect titles like Kal Ho Naa Ho, Suraj Hua Maddham, Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin, Sandese Aate Hai. Each round also starts at a random point in the recording, so Kal Ho Naa Ho opening on a verse and Kal Ho Naa Ho opening on the chorus are two completely different puzzles.

Harder than the mixed bollywood quiz. When every round is Sonu Nigam, the genre and era clues you normally lean on in the first second are gone, so you are separating Suraj Hua Maddham from Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin on texture alone. Most casual listeners need three or four seconds a track; regulars get there in one.

No, but it helps. Knowing Sonu Nigam and recognising Sonu Nigam in a single second turn out to be very different skills, which is why the first round humbles almost everyone. If it bites, try the wider Bollywood quiz first and come back.
