A. R. Rahman Song Quiz

You hear one second of a real A. R. Rahman recording and name it. Land it straight away and the round is worth five points. Miss or skip and the clip grows to two seconds, then four, seven and eleven, worth less every time. Five A. R. Rahman tracks per run, roughly two minutes, and the guess box suggests titles as you type so spelling never costs you a round.

Tracks are pulled live from the public catalogue, so the five you get change every run. Expect titles like Jai Ho, Kun Faya Kun, Tere Bina, Maa Tujhe Salaam, Dil Se Re. Each round also starts at a random point in the recording, so Jai Ho opening on a verse and Jai Ho opening on the chorus are two completely different puzzles.

Harder than the mixed bollywood quiz. When every round is A. R. Rahman, the genre and era clues you normally lean on in the first second are gone, so you are separating Kun Faya Kun from Tere Bina on texture alone. Most casual listeners need three or four seconds a track; regulars get there in one.

No, but it helps. Knowing A. R. Rahman and recognising A. R. Rahman in a single second turn out to be very different skills, which is why the first round humbles almost everyone. If it bites, try the wider Bollywood quiz first and come back.
