Michael Jackson Song Quiz

You hear one second of a real Michael Jackson recording and name it. Land it straight away and the round is worth five points. Miss or skip and the clip grows to two seconds, then four, seven and eleven, worth less every time. Five Michael Jackson tracks per run, roughly two minutes, and the guess box suggests titles as you type so spelling never costs you a round.

Tracks are pulled live from the public catalogue, so the five you get change every run. Expect titles like Billie Jean, Thriller, Beat It, Smooth Criminal, Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough. Each round also starts at a random point in the recording, so Billie Jean opening on a verse and Billie Jean opening on the chorus are two completely different puzzles.

Harder than the mixed pop & hits quiz. When every round is Michael Jackson, the genre and era clues you normally lean on in the first second are gone, so you are separating Thriller from Beat It on texture alone. Most casual listeners need three or four seconds a track; regulars get there in one.

No, but it helps. Knowing Michael Jackson and recognising Michael Jackson in a single second turn out to be very different skills, which is why the first round humbles almost everyone. If it bites, try the wider Pop & Hits quiz first and come back.

Yes. No sign-up, no download, no cost. The Michael Jackson Song Quiz runs in any browser on phone, tablet or desktop, and you can replay it as many times as you like because the Michael Jackson tracks reshuffle each run.
